The International HIV/AIDS Alliance (the Alliance) is a global partnership of 37 nationally-based linking organisations, including an international secretariat, working to support community action on AIDS in developing countries. We were asked to help the organisation create an online resource hub, accessible to people all around the world affected by HIV and AIDS. While the subject matter is indeed serious, with serious consequences for all those involved, we worked with The Alliance to create an engaging portal of hope, inspiration and education.

The first stop was to avoid a colour scheme and imagery that would paint a depressing picture of people living with AIDS. After all The Alliance wanted people to feel comfortable visiting the website for advice and be engaged, in a positive way, with the initiatives and continued activities of the organisation. The next step was to deploy a suitable content management system and userface to allow for easy administrator updates and user access to huge resource of information and downloadable resources. We recently developed a microsite to further engage global communities with the work of The Alliance.
